The Wesley Village Story materialized from a vision of a dedicated group of individuals from the Sherman-McKinney District of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. It was a culmination of extensive work done by this group who decided it was a feasible and much-needed ministry. Wesley Village was built to serve the needs of the elderly without regard to religion, race, color, national origin, or sex.
Pictured at right, the Wesley Village Story began to take shape in April of 1987 as the first phase was under construction. The initial development included 49 living units at a cost of $2 million.
Wesley Village is the only faith-based not-for-profit independent and assisted living retirement community in the Grayson County, Texas area.
